Pakenham CARCO is looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our growing team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with our Financial Controller and Dealership Accountant, gaining hands-on experience across a variety of accounting functions. We provide ongoing training, mentorship, and clear pathways for long-term career growth within our expanding motor group.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Assisting in the preparation of monthly Profit & Loss statements
Managing floorplan reconciliations, payments, and audits
Supporting the year-end audit process
Preparing monthly and weekly reports
Conducting balance sheet reconciliations
Maintaining the fixed asset register
Performing bank and credit card reconciliations
Reconciling manufacturer retail and fleet claims
About you:
Intermediate to advanced skills in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Excellent problem-solving and time management skills
A team-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
Automotive industry knowledge (preferred but not essential)
